Andrei Kobyakov held a session of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers

The level of recovery of the main secondary material resources (excluding construction waste) out of solid municipal waste has more than doubled in Belarus in the last seven years. The statement was made by Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov during the session of the Council of Ministers Presidium on 1 March. The session focused on results of the government program on collecting and processing secondary material resources in Belarus in 2009-2015 as well as measures meant to increase the collection and usage of secondary resources.

Andrei Kobyakov stated that the recovery of the main secondary material resources out of solid municipal waste has increased from 7.5% to 15.6% in 2015. The figure does not include construction waste.

According to the Prime Minister, the government and government agencies concerned have, on the whole, managed to hit the targets set by the program. Andrei Kobyakov underlined that certain positive results had been achieved and the level of recovery of secondary material resources from solid municipal waste had increased.

Andrei Kobyakov stated that more secondary resources are now collected. The collection of waste paper has increased by 185%, that of waste plastic by 200%, used tires by 230%, waste glass by 480%.​
