Andrei Kobyakov presented state awards to outstanding Belarusians

Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov presented state awards to outstanding Belarusian workers. All in all, Andrei Kobyakov presented state awards to some 90 outstanding Belarusians.

Today, on behalf of President Alexander Lukashenko state awards presented  to the best representatives of labor collectives of our country. I note that you are honored them for many years of fruitful work, high professionalism, exemplary performance of official duties.", -  Andrei Kobyakov said, addressing the audience.

The Prime Minister stated that 2015 was a difficult year, but at the same time certain results achieved. In particular, the balance of foreign trade, improved the balance of payments. According to him, the tight monetary policy, a flexible rate fixing, control of the money supply helped keep inflation within the planned limits - the price increase was 12% (the minimum value over the past 5 years). At the same time, the consumer market was stable.

"The priorities - the growth and diversification of exports. This is provided by the decree №78" On measures to improve the efficiency of the Republic of Belarus social and economic complex ", which the President signed on February 23. The document lays down systemic measures meant to improve the performance of the economy by ensuring proper quality of management of state enterprises and by reducing prime costs in addition to developing bona fide competition on the home market. Increase and diversification of export and rational import substitution are mentioned as well.

Plans have been made for the accelerated development of small and medium businesses, the attraction of foreign capital into the establishment and development of manufacturing enterprises, a gradual decrease in interest rates on loans.

Andrei Kobyakov noted that special attention is paid to the country's food security. Therefore, rural workers are among the awardees. According to the Prime Minister, in 2016 the growth of exports will be a key indicator of the effectiveness of the work of agricultural complex. "Today the Belarusian agricultural products supplied to the markets of over 30 countries. At the same time, a list of promising new export destinations. In it 24 state regions of Southeast and Central Asia, North and Central America and Australia. We are working on obtaining access to the markets of these countries . Not less important task facing the complex - to increase the sales margin to at least 10% in addition, agricultural organizations of Belarus in the near future will have to make a road map to reduce the cost of their products, "- said Andrei Kobyakov.

"Among the awardees - medical professionals.  Your achievements are really breakthroughs in medicine. The most difficult operations, highly effective methods of treatment and diagnosis, new drugs. We often expect wonder from doctor and it happens, because you are doing everything possible in profession, sometimes impossible. Thank you for this, "-. said Andrei Kobyakov.

Separate words of gratitude he expressed to teachers, educators and scientists who have also received state awards. "You make a great contribution to the development of science, the development of innovative economy, knowledge-based economy, training the younger generation", - said the head of the Belarusian Government.

Among the winners - the staff of the President's Academy of Management. "Under present conditions, when the world is changing before our eyes, the Academy should use careful and scrupulous approach to the preparation of intelligent management capacity, so necessary for the country", - said Andrei Kobyakov.

From your selfless work depends largely on the country's prestige in the international arena. Belarusian Olympians know all over the world. He expressed hope that this year will be successful for the athletes at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

“2016 has been declared the Year of Culture in Belarus. This is why I am particularly pleased to present the awards to our cultural workers. This year, we will be speaking about culture in a broad sense of the word. This includes the culture of everyday life and manufacturing, family and interpersonal relations. Culture will come to the fore in all spheres of our life,” Andrei Kobyakov stressed.

He noted that the ceremony featured a large group of representatives of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus. “I am sure that you will continue stunning the audience with exciting premieres,” the official said.

Andrei Kobyakov congratulated the attendees on the awards. “Your experience, professionalism and commitment have been recognized by our country,” the head of the Belarusian government said. He also wished all women a happy Women’s Day.
