CAPITAL INVESTMENTS GO UP BY 31.4% IN BELARUS IN 2006
According to the ministry of statistics and analysis of Belarus, the capital and construction investments in Belarus totaled Br19,2 trillion in 2006, which is 31.4% more than in 2005 in comparable prices.
Last year some Br8,1 trillion worth of construction-assembly works were performed, 25% more as against 2005.
Some Br12,6 trillion were invested in production facilities (an increase of 36.7% as against a year before), Br6,6 trillion were invested in nonproductive facilities (23.2% more).
A total of Br9,1 trillion were used to buy equipment and vehicles, an increase of 41%. The average share of these investments reached 47.2% of the total.
According to the ministry of statistics and analysis, state-run companies used Br9,9 trillion worth of capital investments (32.3% more than in 2005).
The main sources of investments in 2006 were own funds of companies (Br8,220 trillion), budget funds (Br5,105 trillion), bank loans (Br3,464 trillion), public funds (Br1,455 trillion).
