CAPITAL AND CONSTRUCTION INVESTMENTS IN BELARUS SOAR BY 33.7% IN JANUARY-FEBRUARY
In January-February 2007, capital and construction investments in Belarus amounted to Br2,537 trillion, having increased in comparable prices by 33.7%,as against same time last year, learnt in the Ministry of statistics and analysis.
In February this year, the investments went up by 21.5% as against February 2006 and shrunk by 9.9% as against January 2007.
A total of Br1,104 trillion worth of construction-assembly works were performed over the period under review, which is 31.4% more than in January-February 2006.
A total of 585 thousand square meters of housing were commissioned in January –February 2007, an increase of 36.9%. In rural areas 321 thousand square meters of housing were constructed, an increase of 55.7% over last year.

Belarus plans to construct 34 energy facilities with the help of Chinese loans, according to Council of Ministers’ resolution No 1210 of 18 August 2010.
Kursk Oblast is interested in setting up MAZ and Belkommunmash assembling plants, Kursk Oblast Governor Alexander Mikhailov said as he met with Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky on 26 August.
The Government of Belarus has endorsed a concept of the Union State program Development of an Integrated System of Space Technology Standardization as part of the Union State Programs and Projects (Standardization program) for 2011-2014. The decision is contained in Council of Ministers’ Resolution No 1227.
Belarus and Bryansk Oblast of Russia are planning to reach $500 million in bilateral trade in 2010, Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Ivan Bambiza told reporters in Minsk on 26 August.
In 2010 Belarus will ensure the GDP growth at the level of 10-11% as against last year, Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky said as he met with members of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus (FTUB) on 25 August.
In a session of the Council of Ministers’ Presidium on 24 August, Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky urged the Government and local authorities to intensify the work on crearing business-friendly environment in small and medium-sized towns.
Belarus and Russia’s Lipetsk Oblast plan to restore the bilateral trade to the pre-crisis level, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov said on 23 August as he met with Sergei Salogubov, deputy chief of the Lipetsk oblast administration.
