During the chairmanship at the EurAsEC, Belarus is aimed at
implementing the strategic avenues of the cooperation, Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky noted during a session of the EurAsEC Interstate Council in
Moscow on June 9.
As for the avenues of the cooperation, Sergei Sidorsky noted the work on formation of the Customs Union, the integration in the production sector of the
economy, the creation of the united energy market and the united transport area. |

Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky and Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin following the session of the Union State Council of Ministers in Moscow on January 30 signed a plan of joint action to minimize the impact of the global financial crisis, improve the parameters of the payment balance, to improve the environment for business and bilateral trade. “The document contains an effective system of measures to preserve our markets,” Sergei Sidorsky said. According to him, the joint plan of action confirms that the sides ensure equal access to the markets of Belarus and Russia. |

Belarus and Russia should coordinate their efforts in the economic area in the conditions of the global financial crisis, Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky said as he met with Russian Premier Vladimir Putin in the run-up to the session of the Union State Council of Ministers. According to Sergei Sidorsky, the coordination of efforts is required by the present-day situation affected by a number of factors: deployment of US anti-missile assets in Eastern Europe, global financial crisis and other factors. |

This issue was discussed during a meeting of Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky and Governor of the Saratov oblast Pavel Ipatov on September 24. Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky and Governor of the Rostov region Vladimir Chub signed the protocol on cooperation between Belarus and the Rostov region of the Russian Federation for 2008-2010. In line with the inked protocol, the two sides will develop a number of joint projects including the development of the programme on modernization of passenger transport in the Rostov region by MAZ and the Rostov Region Administration, the opening of the Belkommunmash Dealer Centre in the Rostov region. |

Belarus is open for talks with any investor, Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky said at a session of the Advisory Council on Foreign Investments in Minsk on May 30. “We are open for talks with investors and are ready to consider any proposal,” Sergei Sidorsky said. According to him, the main task of the government of Belarus is to improve the investment climate and bring the country into the list of the world’s most investment attractive destinations. Today Belarus is ranked 110th on this list. “We have been working on creating comfortable conditions for investors, for improving the investment climate,” Sergei Sidorsky said. |

Enterprises of Belarus’ processing industry will be fully refitted within the next 2-3 years, Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky told media on April 23. The head of Government was on a working visit to the Mogilev oblast. He was familiarised with the progress in implementing three major investment projects: construction of a plant for processing potatoes into starch in OAO Novaya Drut (Belynichi region), reconstruction and modernisation of OAO Bykhov Tinned and Dried Vegetables Factory, and Slavgorodsky Pishchevik. |

Belarus and Russia will accelerate their integration despite the volatilities on the world financial market, head of the Belarusian government Sergei Sidorsky said at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov. “We have recently managed to improve our economic relations. The work in the Union State is actively going on, the decisions taken by the heads of state at the latest session of the Supreme State Council in December 2007, are being implemented,” Sergei Sidorsky noted. |
