No obstacles to investments in Belaru

There are no obstacles to attracting investments in Belarus, First Deputy Economy Minister Piotr Zhabko told reporters after a session of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers on August 19. The session chaired by Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky discussed the results of the investment activity in Belarus in H1 2008. According to Piotr Zhabko, there are no economic reasons in Belarus for failing to meet the investment target which is to increase investments up as against last year.

 

BELINVESTBANK DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM TO EXPAND LONG-TERM CREDITING OF ECONOMY

The government of Belarus approved the development program of Belarusian bank of development and reconstruction Belinvestbank as an investment bank for 2006-2010. The decision is ensured in the joint resolution ¹10/1 of the Council of Ministers and the National Bank. The document was signed by prime minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorskiy and deputy chairman of the board of the National Bank Pavel Kallaur.

Òhe program intends to expand the long-term crediting of the real economy sector by means of internal and external sources of financing, diversifying of the bank’s liabilities by dint of increasing their terms. The program provides for expanding the resource base and authorized fund and intensifying the investment activity. The document determines the areas for foreign and national investments, their volumes, mechanisms of investment crediting and developing bank services.

The program aims to strengthen the role of the state in managing investment processes, to create the conditions for developing and improving the investment activity in the republic. The program ensures maximum concentration of financial assets and target financing of state investment and innovation programs.
