 In Belarus energy industry investors will be offered taxation preferences, First Vice Premier of Belarus Vladimir Semashko said at the IV international investment forum in Mogilev on October 9. In his words, the government has prepared two new energy industry bills meant to encourage investments into the industry. They grant taxation preferences for up to 7 years. Investors are expected to recoup their money within five years and use the remaining two years to develop their companies, said Vladimir Semashko.

REPUBLICAN GIFTED YOUTH DATABANK INCLUDES NAMES OF OVER FIVE THOUSAND STUDENTS
Names of over five thousand gifted students are collected in the republican gifted youth databank, first deputy education minister of Belarus Alexander Zhuk told BelTA commenting upon Resolution №40 of the Council of Ministers.
He has noted that the document issued by the Council of Ministers enhances requirements to the annual updating of the gifted youth databank. Every year until February 1 all republican management bodies and other organizations subordinate to the government should provide information to the education ministry about the results of the professional activity, scientific and artistic achievements of people included in the databank.
Alexander Zhuk has stressed that talented youth in Belarus is supported by means of two special funds under of the auspices of the Belarusian president. One of them is coordinated by the education ministry and the other one – by the culture ministry. Today the republican gifted youth databank lists names of over four thousand “best of the best” and the special fund of the president of Belarus for supporting talented youth – more than 1,5 thousand.
Now every year on, until January 1 the education ministry is to submit the lists of nominees to inclusion to these databanks and until March 1 – is to update the databanks using information collected from the state bodies. Alexander Zhuk has noted that the deadline for submission of modified data to the ministry is February 15.
Such work, according to the first deputy minister, is underway to collect, systematize and store information about gifted young people to facilitate their scientific and creative fulfillment.

 In 2008, the trade between Belarus and Ukraine will exceed $5 billion, First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko said. The First Vice Premier is the head of the Belarusian delegation at the 15th session of the Intergovernmental Belarusian-Ukrainian Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation which is being held in Kiev on October 6-7.

Their opening was discussed at the fifth session of the Belarusian-Kazakh trade and economic cooperation commission in Astana. The Belarusian delegation was led by Deputy Prime Minister Ivan Bambiza, the Kazakh delegation — Emergencies Minister Vladimir Bozhko, the press service of the Foreign Ministry told BelTA.
