GOVERNMENT OF BELARUS TAKES ALL MEASURES TO ENSURE ENERGY SECURITY OF STATE
In line with resolution of the Council of Ministers ¹57 of January 19, 2006 the ministry of municipal development of Belarus, oblast executive committees and the Minsk City Council are instructed to check up and to bring to full readiness all emergency services of the republic, to inspect reserve boiler equipment and fuel reserves. These departments should examine the state of apartment houses including attics and basements, heating, water, energy and gas supply systems and ensure their uninterrupted functioning. Moreover, they will have to ensure full readiness of emergencies services of cities and settlements for actions in bad weather conditions.
The departments of the health ministry are commissioned to render emergency aid to people suffered from low temperature. The companies of the ministry of agriculture and foodstuffs should warm cattle farms.
In line with the resolution transport will work on the schedule, snow-removal equipment should be on the alert. Regular provision of the population with foodstuffs and essential goods will be organized.
The republican bodies, oblast executive committees and the Minsk City Council are instructed to introduce an energy saving regime at all energy consuming companies. They will also have to inspect all reserves of consumables to organize an effective exchange in case of a fuel deficit.
First aid teams and medical personnel should be ready to render necessary assistance to people at home. Additional vehicles can be used as ambulance cars. In line with the resolution a working day on January 2 is shifted to January 28, 2006.
