There are no obstacles to attracting investments in Belarus, First Deputy Economy Minister Piotr Zhabko told reporters after a session of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers on August 19. The session chaired by Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky discussed the results of the investment activity in Belarus in H1 2008. According to Piotr Zhabko, there are no economic reasons in Belarus for failing to meet the investment target which is to increase investments up as against last year.

BELARUS’ GOVERNMENT APPROVES INVESTMENT PROJECT ON HIGH-TECH PARK CONSTRUCTION
In line with Council of Ministers’ resolution #190 of February 15, 2008, the Belarusian Government has approved the investment project on construction of a number of facilities of the High-Tech Park.
The High-Tech Park Administration has been authorized to conclude the investment contract between the Republic of Belarus and South African company Lyons Financial Solutions Holdings (PTY) Ltd. on construction of a number of facilities in the High-Tech Park, BelTA learnt in the Council of Ministers’ Office. Moreover, in line with the resolution, the High-Tech Park Administration is responsible for coordination of the work on contract execution.
According to the resolution, the High-Tech Park Administration, the Ministry of Architecture and Construction, the Minsk City Council jointly with Lyons Financial Solutions Holdings (PTY) Ltd. should develop the area in line with the general layout of Minsk development.
A reminder, South African company Lyons Financial Solutions Holdings (PTY) Ltd. has won the open international tender to be chosen as the strategic investor for building the compound of the High-Tech Park in Belarus.
