A new facility for production of energy-saving glass with magnetron coating are to be constructed at the Gomelsteklo company in 2010. The relevant order was issued by Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky during his tour of the company on 3 February.

Belarus sets out rules for allocating pork tariff quotas in 2010
The Government of Belarus has laid down the rules for allocating tariff quotas for pork import in 2010. The relevant resolution has been adopted by the Council of Ministers.
Single commodity classification of Customs Union in effect in Belarus since 1 January 2010
Since 1 January 2010 Belarus is to use the single commodity classification of the foreign economic activity of the Customs Union. It is stipulated in Resolution No. 56 adopted by the Council of Ministers of Belarus.
Belarus to invite foreign teachers to train nuclear power specialists
The salary of foreign specialists who will prepare personnel for the Belarusian nuclear power industry will be 300% of the tariff rate of the first category. This is stipulated in Resolution No. 54 of the Council of Ministers of Belarus.
Ten Belarus’ companies receive 2009 Quality Prize
Ten companies have been awarded with the 2009 Quality Prize of the Government of the Republic of Belarus. The decision was taken by the commission for prize awarding and approved by Council of Ministers’ Resolution No 19 of 11 January.

More than 1,200 small companies were set up in small and medium-sized towns of Belarus in January-September 2009. There is a total of 8,900 small companies now in small towns.

2010 should become a breakthrough for Belarus’ export growth

2010 should become a year of a considerable growth of the export potential of Belarusian companies, Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky said at a session of the Council of Ministers on 2 February. The session highlighted the results of social and economic development of Belarus in 2009.
