The main purpose of the forestry development is to satisfy the national demands for various wood products more completely.
The increase of the forestry complex efficiency, arrangement of the national forest management, ensuring the forest reproduction, preservation and protection, development of forest resource infrastructure and effective control in these fields should be the strategic directions of the industry development.
The main investment amounts are aimed at the following:
- to modernize the forestry management system, account of forest resources and forest products on the base of the information technologies in order to ensure the stable rational multi-purpose and effective state control on the forests;
- to re-equip technically the forestry production and apply new technologies, means, methods, machines and mechanisms for effective reproduction, preservation and protection of forests, hunting activities, forest monitoring;
- to build, repair and maintain the forestry roads, to make the fire-protection outfit of forest resources and other measures aimed at the development of forest resource infrastructure;
- to modernize the existing logging productions in order to increase the harvesting volumes and labour productivity with application of new technology for wood harvesting and carting out as assortment using the forest load-haul-dump machines.
As regards new technologies, it is planned to develop the technology for the accelerated adaptation of microcline wood species on the base of new plant morphotype formation on the optimized ion-exchange substrata. The financing extent of this project will amount to 200 million rubles, including 120 million rubles out of the budget of the Republic of Belarus, 80 million rubles out of the Innovative Fund of the Ministry of Forestry.
The total extent of financing for modernization of the existing productions on the base of application of the advanced (new and high) technologies in 2007 - 2010 will amount to 365.0 million rubles, including out of the budget of the Republic of Belarus - 180.0 million rubles, others- 185 million rubles.
