Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin held talks with First Vice-President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Reza Aref on the sidelines of the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Moscow on 18 November.
“Belarus views Iran as a very close and friendly nation. We are pleased to note the dynamic development of bilateral relations and highly value the recent visit of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to our country. Belarus is committed to forging strategic ties with Iran. I am confident that the agreements reached by our presidents will provide a new impetus for Belarusian-Iranian relations,” said Aleksandr Turchin.
He noted that Belarus and Iran are actively cooperating on international platforms such as the SCO and BRICS. “We need to more actively utilize such international platforms for bilateral cooperation,” the Belarusian Prime Minister noted.
The first vice-president of Iran emphasized the need to elevate economic cooperation to match the level of political engagement between the two countries and invited Aleksandr Turchin to visit Iran.
