Cooperation between Belarus and Russia’s Tatarstan

Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich discussed the future of technological cooperation with Tatarstan during an appearance on the Belarus 1 TV channel.

“For Belarus, Tatarstan is a key region in the Russian Federation and a strategic, reliable partner. Our meetings focused on the implementation of previously reached agreements covering passenger vehicle supplies, tram modernization, and leveraging the expertise of Belarusian specialists and factories,” said Viktor Karankevich.

According to him, Belarus stands ready to share the technologies and advancements it has already rolled out domestically and in some regions of Russia. This includes new, cost-effective trams that offer the most affordable modernization options, all while retaining full guarantees and service support. “We discussed the possibility of applying these technologies and approaches in Tatarstan. And we hope to see results in the near future,” added Viktor Karankevich.

According to him, a multi-brand center is operating in Tatarstan under the umbrella of the MTZ-Tatarstan trading house. The center is working to broaden its product lineup by making use of every available financial tool for buyers, all to ensure that the items offered are specifically Belarusian products and machinery. Agricultural equipment remains the main priority.
