Government sets Victory Day financial assistance amounts for veterans in 2026

The amounts of financial assistance to be provided to veterans of the Great Patriotic War for Victory Day in 2026 have been determined. The corresponding resolution was signed by Belarus’ Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin.

The Government resolution was prepared in accordance with paragraph 3 of President’s Decree No. 281 dated 21 July 2021 “On the payment of annual financial assistance to certain categories of citizens for Victory Day.”

The payments will be made from 4 to 8 May 2026. Br5,000 will be paid to disabled veterans and participants of the Great Patriotic War, as well as to individuals who took part in combat operations to defend the Fatherland before 3 September 1945.

Br2,500 will be paid to individuals awarded USSR orders or medals for selfless labor on the home front during the Great Patriotic War; those who worked at air defense facilities, local air defense units, on the construction of defensive structures, naval bases, airfields, and other military facilities within the rear boundaries of active fronts and on frontline sections of railways and highways; those who worked at enterprises, institutions, and organizations in the city of Leningrad during the blockade from 8 September 1941 to 27 January 1944 and were awarded the medal For the Defense of Leningrad, as well as individuals awarded the badge Resident of Besieged Leningrad.

Br1,500 will be paid to family members of servicemen, partisans, and underground fighters who were killed (or died) or went missing during the Great Patriotic War (spouses who have not remarried; children with disabilities from childhood, including adopted children; and other dependents who receive increased pensions on these grounds in accordance with the law); former prisoners, including minors, of Nazi concentration camps, prisons, and ghettos, as well as former underage prisoners of other places of forced detention created by the Nazis and their allies during World War II, who receive increased pensions on these grounds; and individuals with childhood disabilities resulting from wounds, concussions, or injuries related to combat operations during the Great Patriotic War or the consequences of wartime actions.

A total of Br10.6 million is planned to be allocated from the national budget for these one-time payments.
