Roman Golovchenko: Sanctions response team will work out comprehensive plan to support economy

The sanction response team will work out a comprehensive plan to support the economy, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said during a meeting of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers in Minsk on 2 March.

"On my instruction, the Government has set up a team of representatives of the key departments and an expert-analytical group. The team is headed by the Chief of the Government office. I have instructed the team to prepare a comprehensive plan to support the economy, including the private sector, small and medium-sized businesses," said Roman Golovchenko.

He stressed that red tape is unacceptable in the current circumstances. “I instruct the First deputy Prime Minister to accumulate all the previous work, to attract the best minds to develop new proposals without a circular approval process. All economic issues related to the sanctions are submitted directly to the sanctions response team, which will immediately look into them and present a ready decision to the sanctions response commission within 48 hours. The sanctions response commission has another 48 hours to take its decision. Thus, the total period for making decisions should not exceed four days, including weekends,” the Prime Minister said.
