Belarus and Russia’s Tatarstan can achieve an annual trade of $1.5–2 billion, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich said at the 12th meeting of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and Tatarstan of Russia.
“I would like to highlight the sustained interest and momentum in developing projects across various fields of cooperation between Belarus and Tatarstan. I am confident that we have the capacity to achieve an annual trade of $1.5-2 billion. Precisely such targets were set during the meeting between Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in 2023," the Deputy Prime Minister stated.
According to him, active efforts are underway to develop cooperation, with a high frequency and level of bilateral contacts being maintained. For instance, in May 2025, a Belarusian delegation led by Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin visited Tatarstan. A protocol of agreements was signed and is being implemented following the meeting. This document covers the main areas of bilateral interaction in fields such as industry, petrochemicals, agriculture, transportation, healthcare, and education.
In September 2025, a delegation from Tatarstan visited Minsk and participated in the INNOPROM.
