Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko heard a report from Prime Minister of Belarus Aleksandr Turchin on 5 May.
“Our Head of state is expected to meet with the President of the Russian Federation soon. Literally yesterday I talked to my counterpart – Russian Federation Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. Among other things we discussed the possible agenda of the meeting of our leaders, our joint projects, further actions, including within the framework of the Union State [of Belarus and Russia]. Within literally the next few days we will prepare information for the Head of state in anticipation of the conversation with Vladimir Putin. It was the main topic of my report to the Head of state,” Aleksandr Turchin told reporters after the meeting.
A number of current matters were discussed, including those concerning the social and economic development of the country.
The Prime Minister noted that before he delivered his report to the President, the Head of state had hosted a major conference with the leadership of the Council of Ministers. Concrete matters concerning a number of economy branches were discussed. “There is no doubt that the conference itself touched upon not only the concrete documents that the Government had submitted for the President’s consideration but also the overall state of affairs in these economy branches. The topic of our conversation went far beyond the scope of these documents. As always, the President is deeply immersed into details,” Aleksandr Turchin said.
