Government approves 2026-2030 action Program for Belarus-Africa cooperation

The Presidium of the Council of Ministers has approved a Government action Program for the development of Belarus’ cooperation with African countries for 2026-2030.

The action Program aims to create a comprehensive mechanism for building a sustainable presence on the African continent and positioning Belarus as a reliable trade and economic partner, one that possesses modern and competitive goods, services, technologies, and expertise. Its objectives are to develop effective political, trade, economic, logistical, and humanitarian tools for advancing Belarus’ interests in Africa and for forging sustainable ties with the countries of the continent.

The action Program identifies promising areas for cooperation, export items, and instruments for achieving its stated goals and objectives. African countries have been ranked by cooperation intensity, factoring in diplomatic representation, bilateral relations (political, trade, economic, and humanitarian), the economic potential of partner nations, and joint projects in the works. The 54 African countries have been divided into three categories: anchor points, promising countries, and countries for targeted initiatives.

One of the Program’s key elements is the establishment of indicative targets for exports of goods and services to African countries in 2026-2030. These targets have been developed with a breakdown by anchor points, promising countries, and other nations, and include increased export assignments for ministries, state committees, and concerns.

Thus, it is planned to increase actual exports of goods and services to Africa to approximately $1.5 billion by 2030.

The execution of this action Program will facilitate consistent work aimed at intensifying cooperation with African states and increasing deliveries of Belarusian goods to the continent.
